Sunset Mountain Lodge Owners

Sunset Mountain Lodge Owners

Warm hospitality from the owners of the Sunset Mountain Lodge in Brant Lake: Ed, Jane and Giles Kolakowski and their relatives John and Barbara Hildreth.

Church of the Blessed Sacrament

Church of the Blessed Sacrament

The Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Hague, New York by the shores of Lake George.  The name of this church is historically significant because this beautiful
body of water was originally named "Lake of the Blessed Sacrament" by the French and later changed by the British to Lake George in honor of the king.  I like the original name better.

The cannon of Fort Ticonderoga guarding the vital waterway of Lake Champlain.  In the 18th century these waters were a crucial part of the travel route between New York City to the south and Montreal in the north.  This fort was called the "Key to the Continent" and was contested by the French, British and Americans.  It was here in 1775 that Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Men captured Ticonderoga from the British, the first battle of the American Revolution.

Brandon Gap

Brandon Gap

Don't let the low altitude fool you.  This climb out of the town of Brandon into the heart of the Green Mountains is steeper than anything we have in Colorado!
