The money raised with the bike auction will help support the new Aspen Catholic Institute. Our goals for this Institute are to provde the finest Catholic spiritual and theological formation available in the United States to the people of Aspen and those who visit our remarkable area from around the country and the world. Essential to the vitality of the Catholic Church, alive and well in Aspen in the 21st century, is well educated Catholics dedicated to the service of Jesus Christ in the world in which we live. The Institute held its inaugural event at St. Mary's in August; it was even more successful than anticipated. The weekend conference was completely filled with 148 people in attendance for all or part of the lectures, hikes and dinners. The majority of the attendees were residents of Aspen but we had visitors from all over the United States.
